It
is very important that groups be registered and group information be
kept updated.
Group
information is used by World Service and local service arms to direct
newcomers and existing members to your group. WSO, Districts,
Areas and other service arms also use group information to keep in
contact with groups about District, Area and World Service
news. Each registered group receives a complementary copy of
the Service Manual each time it is updated along with highlights and
information about other conference approved literature.
The
procedure for updating group information is as follows: Group members
are responsible for registering and updating their group information by
filling out the Group
Records Form
and returning it to their DR (District Representative). The
DR should then forward the information to the Area Alternate Delegate
which in turn forwards the information to Area Officers, Coordinators
and World Service. It is important that the information
follows this path so that Area Officers, Coordinators, public outreach
and other service arms in the local Area get informed of the
information change.
If
you wish to register a new Al-Anon or Alateen group or want to make
changes to an existing groups address, contact information, meeting
schedule, etc., please fill out the Group
Records Form and
forward it to your District Representative. The form may be printed
